Where to start
Something feels different. What now?
Select from 20 plainly-worded observations — the things parents actually notice — and find out which discipline typically assesses them, plus what you can read in the meantime.

Before you worry
Three things worth knowing
- 01
You don't need to know the name for it
Parents almost never arrive with the right clinical term, and they are not expected to. Describing what you see is enough — working out what it means is the assessment's job, not yours.
- 02
You're probably not overreacting
The most common thing parents say afterwards is that they wish they had come sooner. An assessment carries no downside: if development is on track you get informed reassurance.
- 03
This won't tell you what your child has
No website responsibly can. What this does is point you at the right professional, so the first conversation you have is with someone qualified to answer.
Still unsure after all this? Call the centre and describe what you’re seeing out loud. It is often faster than any tool, and you will be told directly which assessment makes sense as a starting point.
Take the first step
Book a functional assessment
Send a request with a few details about your child and the centre will contact you to confirm a time. If you would rather speak to someone first, call or send a WhatsApp message — that is often the quickest way to get an answer.
